R1 REMOTE OIL FILTERS?????

Hi guys new to the forum, im based in NZ and stumbled across this site which seems to have a wealth of info....ive just imported a fisher fury r1 turbo so will no doubt be picking your brains for knowledge, im an ex UK superkart racer who has plans to race this in the nz sportscars class with a few sprints hill climbs etc, love the car and it seems well kitted but already it has a few design flaws that irritate me like the fact its a pain in the bum to do the oil filter.......are there any aftermarket remote setups for the R1 AVAILABLE? Also how the hell do u tell if the accusump is working it doesnt seem to do anything when i flick the switch.

Anyway hope to get to know u guys and love the BECs

cheers wobbly

Have a look on thinkauto.com for a remote filter setup - you'll need to spec if yourself it's not too tricky.

Also the accusump won't do anything if the engine is running with decent pressure - it detects a drop in oil pressure (under extreme cornering) and at that point pumps a load of oil in to prevent starvation. It then recovers this back into its reservoir once the oil pressure is restored. Or something like that. The electrically actuated valves apparently can't always flow enough.

If you're really going to give it stick with sticky tyres and there is a lot of money tied up in the engine I'd recommend a proper dry sump.

Oh and welcome to the forum by the way.

I have plans to turbo charge the R1 in my Fury but it isn't going to happen for a few years now...
