So you think your car is fast

As some of you will know I used to be into big horsepower Audis. The company I always used was MRC Tuning in Banbury....who have just come up with this.

Audi RS6 V10 ....861PS
0-200MPH in 1.1 miles...it changes into 6th at 200MPH !!!!!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SxL6if8_PZw

The car belongs to Mihnea who is one of the owners (he is the ECU guy there) and is a LHD Avant and the video was filmed in Germany. £45K for the car 2nd hand and about £10K to get it to this level...mental car

"Autobahn". Definitely not that little stretch of the M40 where there are no police patrols ;-)

It is French registered so not sure it matters that much but it was in Germany apparently. It is a whole different level of fast compared with my 540 BHP RS4....

Custom gearbox ECU map. I think the gearset has been changed as well (although it maybe the rev limiter has been moved up instead, would need to check with Mihnea).

What amazes me is that this is only a 50% increase in power.

Those things are mad even stock.

Has anyone else noticed that the numbers going round the speedo clock only go up in even increments upto about 1/2 way around, then it starts to jump bigger increments. Never seen that before. must be digitally controlled?

My Fabia vRS is in 10 mph increments up to 90mph then it jumps to 20mph increments. Obviously its not accelerating that hard at that point so you dont notice the change that much.

Must be a VAG thing.

Maybe because they know you can get in trouble for going 5mph over the limit, but once you're past 90 it doesn't matter if you're doing 95, 98 or 130 you're still getting banned!

The central digital speed read-out is a sampling issue. It is only allowed to change at a set frequency, hence why it looks like it is jumping speeds, the analogue dial reads correctly all the time.

That's pretty nippy then!

Reckon they'd be able to do anything useful with my 2.0 TDI Passat?

Are you talking UK? if so its 30 over the limit for instant ban (well court then ban is most likely), anything under is officers discression on if a FPN is issued.
