Cable ties on the fuel system is not a good idea.
Looks wrong
Does not give a good impression at IVA

Large jubilee clips might be better although some tintops use plastic straps to secure fuel filters, Peugeots for one

Mine is mounted with jubilees. I slipped a section of (motor bike) inner tube over the filter and made the bracket with a couple of little tongues. The clips around filter and over the tongues. Zip ties will work but don't look good.

Although it doesn't give a good impression at the IVA test, provided you have securely mounted the filter with cable ties, and there is no chafing likely, I don't see why they would fail you for it. However, both my fuel filters are mounted 'properly' - one with an ally bracket, the other with ally plate and a 'Terry' clip.

It depends on your build philosophy - do you want to do it 'properly' or are you happy with 'it'll do' ?

Cue the obligitary, illustrative picture....
