Tin Top paint

Just bought my daughter her first tin top - lots of light scratches and faded paint.

Anyone here got any recommendations as to the best polishing products and/or cheap deals on polishers ? I have been advised by a mate not to use Mer or T cut so looking for ideas from those with professional experience.

I bought a silverline polisher, and have used farecla G3 paste, but there are lots of grades. I suggest use a finer (G10??) one as they can be pretty aggresive.
There are lots of compounds out there, 3M do a range which works well too(used a few times)
T cut isn't too bad, quite mild but that may be a good thing if you haven't used a polisher before.

Hints. Use the polisher slow, keep spraying/misting the area with water, mask up EVERYTHING including yourself, the cat etc. Polish goes everywhere, especially when you haven't done it before. Get a few sponges, see what works best for you.

I'll say it before someone else does (and no slight on your daughters driving ability), but it might be worth waiting a few months before investing the time and effort in polishing it
