A4 rear break disc advice/ pointers
Replacing the fro t and rear pads and discs on my 2003 a4 tdi.
The rear discs appear to have internal bearings according to diagrams nut these were not included in my purchase of new discs.
Can I reuse the current bearings?
If so how do I best remove and install. How can I fashion a drift?
I guess the same goes if I but some new bearings. How do I fit these? I don't have a workshop press or a big enough vice
Any pointers etc as I shall be tackling alone for the first time

Check the car first. I was supplied the wrong discs at first when I did mine a couple of months ago.
My 04 A4 has discs that sit on the hubs, much easier as no bearings to worry about and completely different to the images in the haynes manual. If you
can take a wheel off and see if things match.

2003 discs do not have the bearing built in the early ones do ,so check you have the right ones and you will need a wind back tool for the rear
calipers hope this helps.

My a4 had the bearing in the disk.
I just used a drift to get them out and refitted them, they have done a load of miles since and have been fine.
if you do have this set up you'll need to fit refit the abs sensor ring, i ordered a new ones with the disks.
i put the disk in the oven for a while and ring in the freezer as there a tolerance fit, sounds a pain but wasn't too bad.

I have a rewind tool for the caliper.
