Got pulled today...
Out for a ride with a mate in thec car, and coming round a 90 deg corner a little quick maybe (but under the speed limit and in control) and there a
copper going the other way. They turn around and pull me over after the next set of lights.
Asks me what the driving was about. Any points on my license etc. Checked all my details through the computers (all came back right as it should). And
sent me on my way with a warning about taking it a bit steadier.
Could've been worse and gotten a ticket I guess. Though I am not sure what for as I wasn't speeding or being that silly. My female
passenger was as confused as me as to why to be fair. But I am just grateful that they were in a good mood and let me off with a warning.
So a lucky day I guess...!

sounds like they were on a power trip, I had a pull a month or 2 back in the Golf was accused of speeding through the lights, not bad really when I
was sat at the lights behind an old boy in a mondeo waiting for them to change from red
Life is like a bowl of fruit, funny how all the weird looking ones are left alone

I was going round the corner quicker than I would have done in a normal car, but under the limit (its a sharp 90deg bend more or less). That said it
wasn't out of shape at all and I could've stopped in the distance I could see. Its a 30 limit and I was doing about 25mph.
But at least they weren't in a bad mood. They were both very pleasant/polite to be fair.

Ive just been out to see why my engine was running rough, was taking it easy and i was doing around 45mph-50 on a total empty 60 duel cabbage way and
a cop going other way flew too round about, turned round it, caught up with me and followed me very very closely for the next 5 roundabouts- didnt
pull me over or anything, just followed me.
Now i think its thats harrasment, and he obviously speeded to catch up with me

its obvious why they pulled you david, they want to try to slow you down. Let be honest, you said you were safe in your opinion but faster than they
expected - they have to assume that, worst case, you arent a good driver, so they try to persuade you to slow down. Obviously they cannot ticket you
as no offense was commited. From their point of view, theres a (slim!) chance you will drive more sedately in future, which undoubtedly is what they
want.
Beware! Bourettes is binfectious.

Having been VOSA'd (pulled over by the police and led to a checking site) simply because they thought it strange that an old Transit was towing
a 'valuable' race car.... then had the policeman argue with the VOSA technical inspection team that one tyre was illegal (it
wasn't), I really felt harrassed.
I ride a motorcycle - so I'm very used to getting stopped, all too frequently. In fact, it's well known (especially in North
Wales/Yorkshire) for the police to set up a pull-the-motorcycle-in station on a layby. It's a great country.
I have so much respect.

Havent been pulled in years now, even driving like a cnut most of the time. Dont see many cops nowadays! Last time must have been 10 years ago in a
subaru. No actually, i was in a battered sierra about 6 years ago when they complained about a broken bumper. But, always polite IME. To be fair, i
probably need pulling.
Hoping to swap the van for a t5 volvo now im not moving rubbish about

I got stopped saturday night 11.59pm in Leyburn for having too bright a headlight the nice 20 year old offficer said i had blinded him so he turned
around and stopped me then said its a £30 fine at roadside for having too bright a lights
but i got him though as i had not had a car come towards me since Bedale about 12 miles and i had my nice new video camare mounted on dash so i
asked him to come home with me about 2 miles and we could download the tape and see just when and where i blinded him he didnt oblige and told
me to be more carefull and left
i think the fish shop was closed that night and there was nothing else to do

The GTO attracts a bit of attention anyway. And youngish bloke driving fairly quick, I can see why they pulled me in retrospect.

On top of that, when the first bit of decent weather comes out there is a mixture of loonies and slightly greasy roads.
The amount of loonies out is ridiculous at the moment. One loony tried to shove his way in through a parked broken down car to my left and me as I
drove past, then shot down the road sweeping across lanes to overtake every car on the A46 to the next roundabout. It wouldn't be so bad but it
was just a crappy golf.
I guess they just want to make sure its control rather than exuberance that you are demonstrating On top of that smaller vehicles always look like
they are going faster than they really are (or at least it feels like that from the inside).

Dont feel too lucky, their is little they could have done. No evidence of speeding, (as you say, its unlikely you were anyway) and theres no way they
could have proven anything more. They were on a power trip and it pisses me off when they say 'we'll let you off with a warning this
time'. They know damn well theres sod all they could do. They probly hoping they would catch up with you doing something they could do you
for.

A few years back I got pulled. It was about 1am through the middle of town, weekday, no one about. I was 'straight-lining' the corners.
The copper following me was a long way back, but I never thought it was a copper as one headlight was way out of line, dazzling upwards. Anyway, they
had to speed to catch up with me. I had not been speeding, but the first thing I was asked was
'are we in a hurry Sir?'
I politely said 'No' and they checked over my details and sent me on my way. They thought it looked like I was speeding, pretty much like
Flak. They then do their job of being a police presence and send me on my way. Did I slow down as a result of that? No. As I was not speeding. But it
did help me identify the Police car a few days later, with the same wonky headlight. Wish I had the balls to mention that when I saw them.

been pulled over literally hundreds of times
once was pulled twice in 10 mins 
the experience depends on the coppers, older more experienced coppers are generally fine, new young coppers are all pretty much complete tossers who
don't even know the law, one copper even claimed you were not allowed to fit after market alloys wheels to a car lol
most of the time i have been pulled it seemed to me they simply had nothing better to do.
why was i pulled over so many times? i don't drink so when ever i was out with mates it was me that drove, so often driving late at night.
(never once been breathalysed)

Got pulled last year when driving home from the station - solitary policeman with a 'hair dryer' in a lay-by. Politely told me off for
speeding (I was) and then told me to be more careful in the future. I just sat quietly, was polite and humble, and VERY grateful when I drove off!

A friend of mine has a 1960 Chevrolet Sedan Delivery - think along the lines of the Escort Van version of a Chevy Impala, with bright orange
paintwork, lowered and with a V8 exiting via two rather loud sidepipes and you've got the idea.
Ah, I've managed to find a photo of one - not as noticeable as his though:
Anyway, he has often been stopped by the police and most of them are honest enough to admit that they just wanted a closer look at an unusual car and
a chat about it!

I've got respect for most police officers because they are doing a difficult job which must be done to preserve society but I would encourage
people to stand up for themselves if they think they are doing no wrong and don't let them intimidate you. Remember the police work for us and
are only human and if they make a mistake then politely inform them of this fact. Stay calm and polite but don't be intimidated.
I've been lucky to only have had a few run-ins but the one that really sticks in my mind is when I got 3 points and a £60 fine for
"running a red light". I won't bore you with the details but this was quite simply a mistake caused by very poorly timed road works
traffic lights where the police assumed because there end was green then my end must have been red. Anyway, it has pissed me off since 1993 when it
happened and I have regretted not standing my ground ever since. This was my first ever encounter with the traffic police by the way.
I've had another encounter with a local plod who took exception to me dropping my kids off outside their school by using the bus parking space
just beside the zig-zags to stop and drop the kids off. Note that it would have been a 10 second drop off with engine running and me in the driving
seat had it not been for Officer "Over Zealous" (Note that there was no bus anywhere near and I would have moved out of the way
immediately had one come along in those 10 seconds). Anyway, the policeman told me I wasn't allowed to park there and he was a bit surprised
when I told him he was wrong and that I wasn't parking, I was dropping off! He said it was a "grey area" to which I laughed and
wished him good luck with that in court. I told him we would have to agree to disagree and asked if he wanted to book me or let me on my way. He chose
the latter. I was probably more blunt than I would otherwise have been due to his manner which was condescending to say the least.
So, stick up for yourselves people - even police officers get it wrong!
Having said that, stay safe on the roads!

Reminds me of when I got pulled over and told off for going so fast round a roundabout in a vintage car, that was the point that I told them the
Falcon was a replica and not vintage...oh

I got stopped a couple of months ago in my Xantia at 2am because I had a 'dodgy' plate on the front. I had the legal plate in the boot but
I couldn't find a screwdriver to change it, so the officer changed it for me and let me on my way

my old man got pulled once by a rookie female copper with an older guy in toe, they accused him of weaving and driving erratically.
at which point he said "would you of prefered it if i'd hit the cyclist"

Many moons ago I was pull for having a black door on a red Alfasud.
More recently (15 years ago) pull for "I've Not seen a Range rover witn twin tail pipes before".
I guess having a 350 chevy under the hood did not help
