Using a diff off a mobility scooter?!

Was surfin ebay as you do when i came across a chain driven axle off a road going mobility scooter. now, them scooters + 1 person must be around the same weight as a small car, so would an axle be ok to use for one?! i dont know if the bearings would need uprating but would the rest of the internals be up for the job of a bike engine?!

cheers

Mobility scooter probably has a 2hp electric motor... A bike engine is nearly 50 times that... I dont think it will go well!

Pretty much as Scootz said, I reckon you could measure the life expectancy in fractions of a second.
