tax

Got the Jago through the MOT today at work... taxed it straight after at lunch and the bloke said that I couldn't back tax it I.E. have the tax started at the start of this month, I'd loose a month which I'm not fussed with at all, but he said no I couldn't. He told me that I couldn't use the car untill Monday(1st) which is a pain in the rear end because its a new toy, and I want to wipe out some ice caps this weekend.
If I drive through an ANPR camera would it still show up as SORN I'm guessing it would because the tax doesn't kick in untill Aug 1st. Would pleading ignorance be acceptable as I am displaying a current and well in date tax disc???

Ta in advance

John

Not quite - tax disc paid for online = 5 days of next month with old tax displayed = use of car.

Er the simple answer is that the car isnt taxed till monday you cant drive it legally till then.
in the old days id have just driven it and taken the chance but these days i wouldnt.
also point of interest they changed the law recently if you tax online and the car wasnt already taxed you cant drive till you have the disc.

In the likely/unlikely event ! you get stopped you could be fined all the back tax till when it was last on the road and have the car seized
