Been with them since xmas (previously with o2 for 10yrs+) have no major complaints. Some hidden charges (random numbers like 0800s) but service is
fine and half the price i was paying at o2.

Have you checked out GiffGaff if you don't mind PAYG? Also on O2 network and better value than anything else I could find.

No expert but it costs me (Orange) a fortune to call my bro (Tesco) IMO

That will be oranges x-network charges, not tesco's.
You need a better tarrif x-network charges are almost unheard of now

I'm on Tesco PAYG with auto topup (it tops up £10 from my bank account when credit drops below £10).
It costs £2/week for t'interweb access.
The signal is a bit iffy at home indoors but seems fine everywhere else.

If you have or intend to own a smart phone then 3 Mobile or a sim only monthly or 12 monthly contract with Vodafone makes a lot more
sense.

Tesco seems to have better coverage than others. I was the oynl one with a signal in the Scottish Highlands among a bunch of mates. Wife's
Orange signal is usually worse in similarly remote areas

I had a £10 monthly tesco £40 credit monthly roll over.
Just swapped to a Tesco £10/month 500min 5000txt 500mb tarrif. Its a 12 month tariff. Swapped cause the flex credit didn't have a data bundle.
No signal issues unlike wor lass on her Vodafone.

Tescos use the O2 network.. I use tescos pay as you go works out fine for me depends on usage but a SIM is free so give it a go.. Also use for some
smart phone work (not much just e-mail and a few web pages)..

Thankyou very much for the feedback, i have a very good deal at the moment with virgin on a sim only deal 400 minutes 3000 texts for £12.26, The
virgin network has been ok for me but i saw the chance of a better or more modern phone, Tesco have a Sony Ericsson X8 250 minutes 5000 texts and
500MB deal for £10 a month. they also offer the old version HTC wildfire on the same time deal for £15 and the newer Wilfire S at £20.
Giff Gaff is interesting too.
