Turbo flutter

I've just put a new EGR valve on my 2.4 diesel Alfa and somehow created turbo flutter. It's quite pronouced when backing off. Any ideas how this may have occured? The car was running rough prior to changing the valve and was back to normal straight away after the change. The next time I went out it sounded a bit rough and had developed turbo flutter. Is it likely to be a problem? Any ideas on a cure?

Cheers

Steve

I had those symptoms when I had a blowing exhaust, is everything definately sealed correctly?

Just checked that this morning, all looks ok. Been for another drive and noticed it occurs more as the car shifts up and down in the lower gears.

Odd!

Don't suppose the alfa uses the EGR somehow as a blow off valve?
