Mini Cooper S Standard Back Box ... How much???

SWIMBO reported her car was a little loud.

As T initially thought there is a hole in the backbox.

I said "Dont worry love i'll short it" as I left the house this morning."

Phoned KwickFit, £1150.... Phoned the local exhaust place.... £700 unfitted

It could be a costly mistake saying I would sort it.

I spot of weld may be required as the hole is not too big or a full stainless.

Seriously was not expecting that.

Ash

I paid £50 for a complete standard MCS exhaust on ebay when I had one. People often pull them off at delivery to fit the JCW items, so keep an eye out

Agreed. I thought I would give them a chance as they were the cheapest when I got the tyres fitted.

BMW back boxes are good quality usually triple skinned

The MINI Cooperr S exhaust changed completely in 2006 up to 2006 the system was very complex with 2 back boxes from 2006 a much simpler system was fiitted not unlike the real Mini cooper S

Yeah but we're still effectively looking at a tube to chuck exhaust gasses out, so £1150 seems a bit steep to me! Just get an aftermarket one if they're cheaper tbh. Unless it's got sensors in it for some reason you can swap it.

If disfunction is a function, then I must be some kind of genius.
