Still thinking

I have put the project on hold while I restore an old classic (a 1973 SAAB 99), but what I've been leaning towards is going Swedish. Front hubs from the Volvo 140, rear axle from just about any Volvo. Possibly using Volvo engine and gearbox as well, but the the Saab "short engine" bolts directly to an Opel gearbox so it's an interesting option. I have also gone totally wild and thought about a front drive Locost using Saab parts.

Mixture of Sierra Ghia 4x4 (rear end, steering column, wheels etc) and Mk5 Cortina 2.0 GL (uprights, loom etc).
Engine and gearbox were bought standalone and came from a 1982 Rover SD1 Vitesse.
