Fuel tank repair

I have noticed over the weekend that my fuel tank has been leaking. It appears to be coming from a pinhole in the outlet pipe. This is aluminium and i am looking for suggestions on how to repair it. I dont really want to remove the tank and obviously cant weld it. How can i seal the hole.? I have tried to use a sealant but with no success. Could it be soldered or is that to much of a risk with the tank full of fuel.

You need a PU adhesive which is impervious to fuel, and before anyone pipes in and says it can't be done they are welcome to come around and inspect my P100 fuel tank which I repaired with P1800 PU sealant and an acrylic plate 5 years ago. Alternatively a 2 part Belzona product will work for you.

I even tested the PU sealant when submerged in Diesel and it still set.

I have used both with very very good results

Another way to do it is a product called "Granville Petro Patch" two versions available the original version is shellac based compound the other version is a two part putty. cost is about £4.00 to £7.00

Incidentally an old school get you home fix for a leaking petrol tank is a bar of ordinary hand soap softened with water and worked into the crack.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I have had a go at sealing it using candle wax over the hole and sealant over the top. Will check it tonight to see if it has worked.
