alternator pulley
Hi all,
I need some help and advice please.......
I am in the process of fitting my alternator (a mini one from an earth mover) to my zetec but the pulley wheel is a v belt type and the one from the
engine is one of those flat multi groove jobs (not sure of the technical name.....). So my question is how can I get a pulley to fit the sgaft on the
alternator (alternator shaft is smaller than the standard zetec alternator shaft)? I am assuming that a collar won't work - so does any one know
of somewhere or some one who makes pullies?
A while back it was suggested on here that flak monkey was a good point of call, however I sent a u2u and heard nothing back so are there anyothers
out there????

My alternator is similar to yours,it has
a 15mm shaft and the new pulley has a 17mm
internal diameter. I sleeved my shaft
with a 15mm olive,the pulley is a perfect
fit on the olive and it runs straight and true.
It has been like this for nearly two years with no
problems.

I went to an auto electrical place and they had a dig around and found one for me. Cost about £20 though.

search multi-vee pulley on here and you will find a liniky doo dah
to burtons website
£14 if i remember

Paid a brief visit to the Burton power website - one shiny new pulley on its way - woohoo!
