Renault megane turbo replacment

Well after nearly 8 hours of work dodging the pouring rain the turbo is now seperated from the car. Quite easy really:

1) Remove bumper
2) Remove both headlights
3) remove intercooler & all pipework
4) remove exhaust & catalyst
5) remove air intake and all vacuum pipes
6) remove inlet manifold
7) Remove exhaust manifold
8) remove all heat shields
9) remove EGR valve
10) remove particle filter system
12) remove under engine tray
13) remove steering rack
Now you can get to the turbo,
14) remove oil feed pipe
15) remove oil return pipes
16) remove some strange long bar thing
17) Remove turbo
18) have a cup of coffee
19) order new turbo and then replace all items

I will get a picture up tomorrow of the turbo to show the extent of the damage, now just the simple task of cleaning out the intercooler and pipe work as they are full of oil.

I hate this car.....

A dire situation. As it stands with a blown turbo = worthless. With it fixed and cleaned up there going for about £2k so once its fixed the bloody thing is going asap

Did you ever sort out the lower arms ? Might be worth replacing them now you have the bumper off?

I actually did the lower arms about a month ago, as it needed them for the mot and that was an easy job too, just had to remove the lower subframe to get out the bolts. Simple really. I really dis like this car. Only because you seem to have to remove so much to get to anything. I know modern cars have the engine bay packed in as space is a premium but I have never worked on a car like it. You have to remove the bumper to change a headlight bulb!!!

It will be hopefully sold soon and then I have the simple task of finding something to replace it with. (She wanted a new shape beetle but I have now got her to not want one!)
