Zetec Blacktop Fuel Rail

Hi folks....

Done a search but can't find an answer to this (if there is one!)...

For ease of plumbing, I'd like to turn the ally pipe round so the fuel regulator is at the flywheel end rather than the cam cover end. However I still want to use the standard Ford regulator.

Problem when you do that, is that the fuel reg fouls on the cam sensor.

Anybody got a solution or any ideas?

Thanks.

do you use the cam sensor i dont could you not remove it and make a blank plate so you have more clearance
or some people fit there throttle bodies unside down as they can be used fine that way

Thanks Doddy

Yes, fraid I do use the cam sensor.

One option may be to mount the fuel reg upside down.

Anybody know if this is possible/sensible/plainly ridiculous?

I've welded a little piece of plate to both the regulator lugs so I could elongate the mounting holes. This has let me spin the regulator a bit so you can get the cam sensor plug on. This is a black top rail on a silver top motor. Wrapped the reg in a wet rag to stop the heat getting to it. I'll try to get a photo of it tomorrow.

Hi Dan...

Have you turned the whole fuel rail over?

All I've done is swap the ally tube round, while leaving the rail itself in the place it was originally.

Is this where I'm going wrong?
