My Pinto has a hole in it!!!!

I decided to fill up my coolant today, just to check for leaks etc.

It has a leak, there is a hole at the front of the LH side of the head that looks like it should have a sensor in it. I cannot remember taking one out, but the hole looks like it is 1/8BSP so a tenp sender is favorite, can anyone confirm? Rescued attachment Leaking Hole.jpg

Thanks for the offer, I should be able to get a new one for a couple of quid locally, how have you got on with your 2.0 pinto with the micra radiator? I drove to bristol on friday, normally about a 3 hr drive, but took me 6 hrs with heavy traffic, this is a trip I will do regularly in the locost, just hope that the micra rad will cope with traffic jams OK

Mark

I'm using a sealed mk2 escort rad which seems to cope,it does get a bit hot in traffic but so far so good with the stat kicking in and bringing the temp down ok.

I would like the stat to cut in a bit earlier and was thinking of adding a dash switch so i could manually apply when i hit traffic.

I did take some good advice sunday to fit a kenlowe adjustable stat so as to get the fan on earkier which is also an option.

New sender is now fitted, no leaks, G12 antifreeze, ever such a pretty shade of pink!
