VIN request letter template

I have seen mentioned a template for a letter to the dvla requesting a vin number, can anyone point me in the right direction?

I went to local DVLA and asked for a vin number and they gave me one over the counter

Sent off ash's letter, got a vin back a few days later. Their letter was a bit wierd though, said i need to get the car inspected by a dealer who will then stamp the letter...?

Yeh, once you've stamped the chassis it's meant to be authenticated by a proper garage to verify its actually been put on there, but as we are a manufacturer Then I would do up my own document and sign it off. Vosa check its on there anyway ffs!

They only need it so they can tick a box on a form somewhere, I bet they don't even read it or care.
