Help wiring Sterling Excel immoblliser

I have bought the Sterling Excel transponder immobiliser that a few people have used on here but I am not exactly sure how to wire it up.

The wire colours are listed below with my questions.....

1 - Red is a permanent +12v supply - Probably a stupid question but should this be able to be isolated by the killswitch or should it be permanent all the time??

2 - Green to earths - two separate earth points - Im ok with that...

3 - Yellow to door switch - Ive read on here to just leave this disconnected?

4 - Orange is ignition/accessory switch feed - Where should this be wired in??

5 - Blue is starter motor circuit - Where abouts exactly should I wire this into the starter motor circuit? Can I do it at the crank relay? (middle relay from bike loom on my diagram)

6 - White is 2nd isolating circuit - must be live during cranking and engine running. Should I do this to the fuel pump relay?

Cheers!

I did mine yesterday.

Red to a perm live, can be cut off by battery master.

Green as you say

Yellow needs to short to earth via a momentary switch, it has to be connected and can't just be a permanent connection as it is used to make the unit look for a transponder but only does so for 20seconds.

Orange to an ignition switched live

Blue I wired in at my ignition barrel, one connector to the cable that went to the barrel and the other then to the barrel. ETA in your setup disconnect red white from start button and use the two blue to make the link, one to red white one to switch.

White I shorted out as I have no secondary circuit to isolate.

Works wonderfully.

Id be nervous of a colour coded loom for an immobilizer, my clifford has all black wires with removable labels. I thought that was fairly standard practice.

This one is the same, all black wires with coloured tags that will be removed.

Where would this be on my drawing? Is this to the whites from the ignition barrel?

Cheers

I would say so yes but test with multimeter to be sure.

Still don't get this. Orange is to ignition switched live, but the white (according to the manual) can isolate a switched live circuit e.g. ignition coil......

the yellow wire can be left off. it just boosts the power to the coil looking to pick up the transponder, but if your transponder is close to your coil it'll work just fine without yellow/momenty switch

The white is a second security, the orange stops the immobiliser arming while the cars running.

The immobiliser won't look for a transponder and so won't turn off without the yellow connected, so it does need connecting as I described above. It certainly doesn't boost power to anything...

I have the PDF with installation instructions. As electrics aren't my strong point I just want to check exactly where I should be connecting the immobiliser. It's the orange that's causing confusion. Should it connect to the white from my ignition barrel so it is only on when ignition is on?

Yes.

Orange stops immobiliser from arming when ignition is on

Hi
If you have a sierra ign switch the orange goes to the accessory wire
( which should only be live when switched to that position) .
If like me you only have an on/off switch for the ign , the just fit it to any cable that is live when
you turn the switch/ign on.
Just tape up the yellow, that what the engineer told me.
The loop just fits around the ign switch
The box can be fitted anyway up .
The instructions are not very clear , as the co I bought it from is quite close to me
Visited the engineer who explained all my queries.
Good luck
René

how strange, as mines been working just fine for the last 3 years with the yellow wire just bundled into the loom to make things harder to trace, not connected to anything i have my fob on a seperate keyring, which goes in the left pocket, and the coil fitted to the outside of the fiberglass seat, worked a treat for confusing my brother, i sat in, started with the key and push switch, told him he could have a go, nothing worked

Well can only comment on y experience of a recently purchased one and it would not recognise a transponder without it connected.

Ok, thanks for the info. I'll wire orange to switched side of ignition and leave yellow disconnected and see if that works. If not ill add a momentary button.

Which circuits should I isolate then? Fuel pump and crank relay??? Fuel pump is live all the time and crank is only live when turning over

Cheers!
