Spongy HLAs - V6

Morning all,

Am rebuilding a 2.5v6 klde from a ford probe, and am just beginning to reassemble the heads. I noticed last night when I was putting the HLAs in that out of the 24 about 4 are really soft and can be compressed whereas the others are solid.

Will these firm back up once the engine is back together and they see some oil pressure, or do I need to take any other action??

thanks Alan

Not an issue, they will have drained down, probably the ones that were depressed when the engine was last run and left standing.

It will rattle a bit when you first start up, then as they fill will oil will restore themselves.
