sd1 clutch slave girling code=?

Hi,

I am after some help working out what this slave sylinder is.

From the builder, the notes just say sd1 slave cylinder. (and also a rebuild kit was bought at build time) I bought a sd1 slave rebuild kit from rimmerbross before I removed the slave unit, but there is no circlip on mine to remove.. it looks like a sort of sealed unit.

On it is stamped:

GIRLING Q138 ( i think it is an 8)
and on the other side:
74660078 (the best I can guess i the 78 at the end)

google doesn't seem to be helping me, nor the usual places to buy.

I'm looking to replace it whilst I have the system in bits!

any help appreciated.

cheers

Chris

Overhaul kits fit a number of different cylinders.

Personally I would have gone straight for a new Landrover Defender cylinder which are cheap as chip from LR specialists.

Thanks for the pointers, really want to just replace it like for like, as i have read they all can have different bore, length and thread size for the bleed and in point.

Will give past parts a try tomorrow good idea. Cheers Chris

I suspect it was from eBay. Not much in the way of identifiers on it I'm afraid :-

thanks.. it certainly looks like mine - but who knows as the numbers are so different!

appreciate the time to take the pic.

my master cylinder is a ap racing one it turned out so it could fit in the space.

so really want to replace the slave like for like so the same effect is felt.
