need Protech shock measure
Hi all,
I want to change my olds shocks to Protech 400 series bearings version but i'm not sure i have any clearance at chassis rails, top rockers and
trailing arms.
can anyone tell me the radius at end for Protech shocks bearings version and bonded version if it is not the same ?

I'm not sure of the measurements, but on my Stylus I had to put a hole saw through the top rocker to give clearance for the protechs. I had no
issues at the rear, but not sure how similar Fury/Stylii are at the back. Mine are the bonded bush versions, and transformed the car!

The rad is R18 on bearing and bonded bushes.

well, there no fit at front chassis rails and rockers arms, at rear on trailing arms too

That is not necessarily a show stopper Zekill. The loops are well over engineered. To give you an idea, the bonded bush fittings are 7/8" OD and
the bearings are 1". You can comfortably remove some material without any risk. My own shocks run a 26mm OD bearing and the rad is 17.5 with a
further flat machined at R16.5 so the thickness left is just 3.5mm and those shocks run in some heavy duty applications with up 1800 lbf/in springs.

On one I did some work on I drilled a 5/8 hole in the rocker and added a countersink below.
It give me plenty of room and the top eye cleared just fine

the bad thing is at front lower rail.
max radius at shock is R14, this leave a small 0.5mm gap.
If I remove material from Protech shocks, there is only 1,3mm material from top to bearing.
it's not safe.
