Luego Velocity, part-built.

Well, the time has come to part company with my part-built Velocity, I am sad to see it go but I'm just not going to get it built any time soon and I'd rather it went somewhere where it was going to have someone put it together!
Brief history, I bought it part built from a lad in Redditch, who himself had bought it part-built from somewhere else! It was advertised as 'very few parts needed to complete', but carefully didn't mention that said parts were things like lights, instruments, seats, shocks & springs etc etc i.e. all of the expensive bits
Anyhoo, it's sat in my garage for around 8 years whilst I went through collecting other bits for it, went throuhg 2 changes of mind on the engine front before I setled on the one it came with and variously didn't get around to starting anything on it.
So, here's what we have;

Luego Velocity (standard width, not XT) chassis kit, with wishbones, bushes, hubs (front) & uprights (rear). This is assmebled and rolling, but there are no shocks, just wooden struts to hold the car up.
It was originally specced and bought to fit a Ford Pinto to, but the original owner changed his mind once bought and decided on a Zetec instead.
West Midland Propshafts 1-piece prop, to go between MT75 gearbox and Sierra Diff. 3.62:1 open diff, cut-down driveshafts for Velocity chassis, complete with joining pieces but not welded. Drum rear brakes (fitted) & vented disc front (new discs included).

2.0 litre Ford Zetec silvertop, with standard inlet manifold & injectors, no exhaust manifold I'm afraid (didn't get 'round to getting one of them) but a straight-through silencer made by a member on here who several of us had a silenced off and cringingly enough who's name I can't call to mind (sorry!). This engine had it's ports taped over but WILL NEED A STRIP AND INSPECT. I will also include a set of ARP con-rod bolts which I did buy and stash
MT75 gearbox, again as it came out of the donor (not sure which as it came with this kit and was already bolted to the engine.

2 x steering columns and I think I might still have the keys to one or both of them.
Floor mounted pedal box with overhung accelerator pedal.
Four 6J x 14 ET18 Ford-bolt-pattern wheels, I think they are RW Francorchamps. These were bought to be reconditioned and never were so they are as they are.
Luego-supplied wiring loom.
Front wing stays.
Windscreen and 'screen stays.
Carbon-look fibreglass dash.
Full set of cycle-wing bodywork in red. This is as it came from the factory and, being kind, their 'glass work needed some improving as there are flash/moulding marks which will need a tidy. Also, the side panels are rather orange-peely in finish.
Weld-in roll-over bar and backstays, not welded in yet.
Engine ancilliaries incl alternator & starter motor.
Pair of rear lights which were originally intended for a trailer, came with the kit and I suspect may not be IVA-compliant (although they are E-marked)?
Ali fuel tank, purchased from jollygreengiant some years back now.
Interior ali panels, some already fitted.
New brake discs, shoes and pads.
Brand new MK2 For Escort radiator, very slight ding in the fins one side (sorry!).
EDIS 4 module.
2 seats from a Bedford Rascal, again they are as they came out of the donor vehicle and were going to be reupholstered.

If you click here you can look at the photos I've uploaded.

The only fault with it is that when the original owner decided to change from Pinto to Zetec-power, he decided to move the engine mounts, by the look of it with a hammer and chisel. Fortunately he's only had a go at one and the chassis rail has remained straight, but it doesn't look great.

I am looking for £1750 but am willing to discuss if you'd like to

Please either PM me, text me on 07783 644840 or call on 01733 211034 and ask for Mark.

Cheers

I get the feeling from looking around at what else ifs for sale on other sites that I may be being a tad optimistic in my pricing? If anyoen is willing to give me a realistic appraisal of a price for what I've got, if you've a minute or two to spare would you mind sending me a PM please?

That sounds very cheap.

I hope someone snaps it up, real shame your having to sell though.

Good luck.

I wasn't getting any action at the initial price I put in, plus from what I can gather the used fully/part built market appears a little slow at present, hence the price drop.

I'm really doing well here, failed to sell on Ebay, so, if anyone is interested in the package as described in my initial post at £750 please let me know.
The only change that I have found is that a forum member (don't know his forum tag, sorry) was going to buy before he experienced a reality check and realised he had actually reached the limit of what would fit in his garage and came to have a look over the kit. He discovered the engine wouldn't turn and I've subsequently tried with a long bar on teh crank pylley nut with the same result, so it will need either this motor stripped and rebuilt or a fresh lump in it's place.

As said above £750 is the new price if anyone's interested.

p.s. the reason being I need to get it moved on as my life is moving in different directions and I no longer have time/energy for a build
