WTD - plastic pipe 200mm dia or more

as part of the on going 'get the house sorted for the new arrival' project I'm needing some large diameter pipe
it needs to be ~200mm dia or bigger, but I only need ~10 to 15 short lengths (say about 250 - 300mm long)

doesn't even have to be plastic as long as its cheap !

any suggestions ?

I brought some 10" dia pipe for a test rig at work. I needed about 4m and it cost a fortune.

Maybe try a builders merchant and try to get their offcuts.

If thick cardboard is ok then you can get concrete column formers cheaply from bigger building suppliers.

we successfully blagged about 4' of 10" gas pipe and made 2 Santas post boxes from it by wrapping in red vinyl etc,
worth a go at your local utilities depot
good luck, Mike

yeah thats what I'm finding - if you want 4" pipe its no problem, anything bigger you need to buy big quantities

Steel any good? Plenty of heavy gauge steam pipe in that sort of size that should be available as offcuts at scrap prices. Or if thinner stuff is needed, get any local engineering firm to roll you some bits for beer money.
How about plastic gas main pipe? There's tons of the stuff rolling about along the roadside where I live!
