duratec cylinder head differences

Hi all, I know there are two types of duratec cylinder head (hi port and low port) but does anyone know the actual differences between the two? I know the hi port flows better but ive never had an actual answer. Also I purchased a duratec engine off ebay for 30 quid. It came with a ported head (it was in pieces as it had bent valves). Ive checked the head and everything seems good, but its not a hi port head. Ive enclosed pics of the porting.

So is a modified older head as good as a standard later head?

According to sbd's website, the higher port head flows better, and is said to be able to release an extra 10 or so bhp when tuning. The older head is still widely used, with very good results coming from it. It's certainly not going to be detrimental to power, 250bhp would still be easily achievable I would imagine. It's only when trying to go any further than that you may well start running into problems.
