Car taken to exhaust makers

As per the title, I took the Viento to the exhaust fitters today. Its the first time that its been away from me and the garage since I started. I feel more nervous than I did the first time that my daughter went out on her own

Back on Wednesday then a bit of tidying up and off to IVA.

on way to exhaust place

I bet it is a strange feeling!!!

Where's it going for the exhaust?

Is it manifold and system you are getting made?

Its going to Jacksons Automotive Components in Hucknall, Nottingham - only 15 minutes away from me. I'm having the whole system made including the manifold all the way to the silencer. As its a straight 6 it needs two lots of three into ones and then each of those into a collector for the final run to the cat and silencer.

Hi Steve, what size silencer did you go for ? I'll pop over and see you next week when you get your car back if that's still ok.

Cheers, Jaime

If in doubt, flat out.

What engine you got in it? I'm interested in using an engine from a bmw 328i. How much is your exhaust costing you?

Cheers

Its what you're looking at, a 328 BMW engine - very smooth and lots of power, with simple mods to get into the 230-240 bhp range. If you're going to use one, take a close look at the sump as it has a bulge on the side that I needed to cut off to get it in the engine bay, and that's in a Viento! (see my photo archive for what I did about it) I also traced a lot of the engine loom wiring, including the immobiliser, so if you need a drawing, let me know. If you're going to use the stock ECU then, depending on the age of the engine you will need to reprogram it to remove the ABS sensor otherwise it will default to limp home mode.

The photos of the exhaust in the other thread don't do it justice I'll drop you a U2U with the price as I don't really want to post it on the open forum.
