Exhaust paint

So here's the issue
I'm rebuilding a reliant based trike for a mate but he isn't a chrome/
Shiny guy so were looking at black/ stealth look.

I've managed to hide the exhaust underneath except the manifold and down pipe which need painting black

My question is what's the best chat paint you guys have used and what sort if results have you achieved
What's the preperation. Is it just derust and degrease and key or is a primer needed?

Went for silver from hafrauds on my fathers bike a few years bike, despite limited dry mileage, it didn't last long, just flaked and faded within a year. Guidance just suggested a clean and degrease.
