MIG Welder faulty?
My MIG (clarke 151) has started 'pulsing' so instead of a steady bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz it goes bzz bzz bzz bzz bzz ....
Is it faulty? can it be fixed? What is the likely problem?
anyone seen this before?

Does it pulse even before you strike an arc? Probably motor control board, duff capacitor or solder joint would be my guess.

Would think its one of the main power diodes in the rectifier pack - just google mig rectifier failure diode replacement etc - the pulsing will likely
be just half wave being rectified.

take the side cover off, and watch the wire closely over the wire feed wheel while you press the trigger, sometimes the wire slips every revolution
due to the ridges in the wheel being clogged or worn away. start simple. might need a new wheel or the tensioner adjusting up a touch

Are you using clean wire? If there's any rusty dust in the torch liner, it can cause this pulsing. Also, folks use extension leads that are too
feeble, which can also cause it.
