Wanted a type 9 gearbox

As i have managed to break my type 2 today, not sure whats broken yet, but as its got to come out, i may convert to a type 9 5 speed, (if it fits)

So does any one have a spare Type 9, i could perhaps borrow, to check the fit or at very worst measure up against my current setup
prefered in the local ish sussex, surrey, kent area

regards

steve

Hi,

yep, you are a trek away, but if you are able to take some pics, and measurements of them together, that could provide me
with enough data, to see if its viable

I know the type 9 is longer, and the gear lever about 4" rearwards, just this make me want to do the swap, but im more concerned on getting the whole set up into the tunnel, and the new position of the gear box mount
my car is a book one built locost to the original spec

regards

steve

Thanks!

I think you have provided ALL that I need, as I can measure up the type 2 when its out, as its currently a box of cogs, that are not connected to the engine and axle, so its £****d !

regards

Steve

Hi,

If you are still looking for a type 9 gearbox, I can help, happen to have one and am in East Grinstead. Not 100% of the condition but believe was good runner. (at least that is what I was told). Worse case diner for refurb. Also have a bell housing, but not sure what from think sierra.

Let me know if you want it.
