RetroFord Alternator Bracket - Best Alternator?

Hi, helping a mate with his ST170 se7en project and we're wanting to fit the 'motorsport' alternator bracket from Retro Ford: http://www.retro-ford.co.uk/shop/content/zetec-light-weight-motorsport-alternator-z023ms. Although RF sell their own small Denso type alternator, it's £135! Has anyone used this bracket before with another alternator? Whilst 40A or greater would be sufficient, we're more interested in the fitting lugs to ensure the alternator fits with the RF bracket.

depends where you wish to fit the alternator.....the CVH alternator bracket fits directly onto the zetec block on the N/S they are not hard to find.
you could buy the Haynes roadster book.....it give plans to make your own bracket.

The daihatsu charade and grand move alternators are dense ones and very similar if not the same, see this one http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2004-DAIHATSU-CHARADE-1-0-LITRE-PETROL-DENSO-60AMP-ALTERNATOR-27060-97202-/271665800908?pt=UK_ CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item3f408b26cc

In the spirit of sharing on this forum, I'd like to share what I've found out about the Diahatsu Charade alternator that is so popular as a lightweight alternative for kitcar enthusiasts. As you'll all appreciate, car manufacturers will use/share the same alternator across the marques - the Denso 27060-97202 is no exception and is actually a Toyota part and used on a number of different Diahatsu cars and vans. This is a good reference website: http://www.yoyopart.com/oem/6991562/toyota-2706097202.html and it lists alternatives by Bosch, Lucas, QH, etc. Enjoy!
