Kit car with V5 old for new engine.
HI EVERYONE.
I WOULD LIKE SOME help or advice on my purchase, I have a chance of aquiring a Haynes Roadster with V5 and reg, correct me if I am wrong but if I put
it through the IVA as is with its 2.0 pinto engine when replace said engine with a 2.0 Duratec engine I will then can run it with no Cat? Any other
advantages or disadvatages I can't see please enlighten me

If it has got a v5 and a reg number, then surely it's been through either an SVA or IVA already.
You need to check this before buying. You don't want to end up with a ringer

The only v5 I had before SVA was the one for the Sierra. You only get issued with paperwork to apply for a reg number and v5 for your kit / locost
after passing these tests.

As Dan says, if it needs an iva then the v5 and reg must be off something else, maybe the donor. If the v5 accurately describes the car, and chassis
numbers matched, then it doesn't needa test.
Emissions limits are written on the v5 apparently.
Beware! Bourettes is binfectious.

Assuming this is an unfinished and not IVA'd and registered kit, with the documentation supplied with it from the donor...
Once IVA'd and registered, then the MOT emissions requirements stay as at IVA (and are on the new V5) regardless of any later engine change.
Only exception is Q reg cars that at MOT are a "visable smoke" test, so again no issue with an engine change.

Yes thats exactly the owners is saying he has a photo diary of the donor being stripped and it goes on with the haynes book build. Thanks for all your

Make sure you have copies of all the photos and the receipts he might have. They may be needed when you come to register it.
