Third Brake light.

Hi all, is been a while as I have had to move home whilst on my Haynes Roadster build. Anyway I would like to ask the Locost masses what have you done for a 45mm od rear roll hoop high level third brake light? Did you put light inside tube, or cut out a section for it to sit in, or make a bracket of some sort for it to sit in.

Pictures would be a massive help.

Thank You.

Tony T.

Sorry Toni no pics currently available but I put mine, which had self tapper screw fixings at right angles to the light, underneath the top of the rollbar then run the wiring through the inside of the roll bar tubing.

I cut a slot in the pipe.

Welded in a compensator plate to make up for the loss. Cleaned up the weld.

Mounted the led light in the slot using warm blu-tack, running the wire inside the pipe.

I didn't even consider compromising the tube, so mine hangs under with electrical tape! not the tidiest, but works just fine

found a pic - I have extra lights up behind the seats as you can see, mot man fine with them, lets the 4x4 drivers possibly see me, but IVA wouldn't be. 3rd brake would be fine..

the built in ones above are very nice, but I also made mine hang lower so they work with the hood on, practical and quick over nice.

My old MAC1 had a very elaborate high level. Factory fitted to the full cage worth the cables run inside. 3x LED rain sensors, you could not miss that!

I did not have one on my Striker until I took it off of the road and committed it to track. I then just left the LED fog ligh where it was and just rewired it as a brake light. Not high level but is bright.
