Making your own scuttle/dash

Am I missing something or is there no drawing showing sizes/radiuses in Uncle Rons book for the dash? The section on making the scuttle refers you to the dash section and the dash section refers you to the scuttle section I have seen the tiny "plan" on page 130 but it only gives the width,I need to know the height and the radius on each top corner

Hi Mark

It realy depends on how much of the car
you intend to build yourself.
If you intend to buy a bonnet & nose cone
then the scuttle needs to match these.
If you just buy a nose, then the bonnet that
you make needs to be the same rad,
but you can change the height a little at the
scuttle end, and make the scuttle to fit.

When I worked out the height of mine I
ran a string line down the car, from a
vertical bit of box (clamped above the dif)
to a mock up of the nose cone shape. Sliding it up
and down till it cleared the engine gave
me my scuttle height.
The rad on my nose mock up is 125mm,
so I carry this rad all the way up to the
scuttle. This will make the bonnet easier to form.
I hope to have mine back on the
car soon, (see thread: I love holidays),
then I'll put a piccy in my archive.

Hope this helps.
