The Yamaha r1 carbs seem very popular at the moment ,41mm bore I believe ,but they do angle down a lot ,and may stick out of the bonnet.

I have used the Suzuki GSXR 38mm carbs on my CVH the have a nice shallow mounting angle.

Suzuki Bandit carbs are a similar angle too........... Rescued attachment Carbs On Car 6 vvvsml.jpg

Any over 38mm I measured my R1's at 40mm but I may be wrong they are from a 98 spec????????
I also have a set of Blackbird carbs that are 42mm which are beter/cleaner and best of all cheaper than the R1's.....
It seems that having bike carbs will meen putting the filter through the bonnet , but im no were near that stage yet....
