Mk advised me to set the tracking at a wide toe out (several degrees possibly) just to get it to self centre.

Where have you set your mushroom inserts? If I recall correctly, the offset holes go towards the front.

Do a search for settings, this was discussed recently.

I have heard that there is a problem with the way the Mk steering locates to the chassis. Allows rack to move on the road to give an unsettled steering feeling. Dont have anymore details tho'.

Richard, at SVA you need to toe the front wheels out to get it to show signs of self centreing. It usually isn't a problem doing this at SVA testing station and then winding em back in before driving on road.
