If you want to offload the gearbox I'd be interested as long as it's not too far away from me (Sussex)

Isn't the Sigma a Mazda engine?

I imagine that it will be difficult to find a suitable bellhousing with any Ford RWD gearbox.

Only guessing but but maybe a MX5 gearbox might fit?

Pure speculation, but hope it helps

Cheers

Thanks Guys. Im near Milton keynes.

The sigma is a Yamaha developed all alloy block 1.6 from the focus its kind or a duratec... Luckily my dad is pretty handy at this and we are cutting up the ould gearbox to make a Bellhousing for the type 9.

1.6 on emerald ecu, cams, gsxr750 throttle bodies and manifold should be around 180 bhp and rev to 8100 with arp end bolts. but it is ssssooooo light,

Where are you

Hi Stuart

You can get bellhousing and tuning bits from Shawspeed

http://www.shawspeed.com/fsigma.htm

Sorry, Been offline for a while.

Im in Milton Keynes J12 M1

Kinda need a Type9 Quick to make a bell housing. I would get one from Shawspeed but i need it custome made so i can get the engine as far back as possible with the flywheel just in front of the footwell. Plus the one i made before was much lighter aswell,

As for Shawspeed the guy is a legend, Im getting him to fit my cams and shim them as the engine has solid lifters std. The guy is very cheep and Knows his stuff.

So any1 have a type 9 near bedfordshire. And cortina uprights, (lol worth a try) They are to rare for my liking.

I would say that you will not get the engine any further back in your chassis with a custom bellhousing rather than the shawspeed one, if you look at their installation the bellhousing is almost touching the bulkhead. Also unless you are modifying an RS2000 alloy bellhousing it will not be any lighter than the shawspeed one.

The key word you use there is 'Almost'

I want the flywheel just in front of the footwell, Plus i want the hyd. clutch, Have you seen how much that costs from them...wwooooooowww

not nocking them they 'rock' but my box only cost 50quid with 10K Miles on the clock and has a hyd thrust bearing unit. All i need to do is hack out all the gears weld on a flat plate, machine out the centre boar for the gearbox and hay presto, Hyc bellhousing for £100

trust me im 21..
lol
