Monte Carlo Rally

Came back yesterday after a few intense and full on days navigating for Hicost in the Reims - Monte Carlo Guild of Motor Endurance Rally.

We had a great time over the Alps tearing around hairpins - and here's a few pics for you.

For anybody thinking of doing something a little more adventurous than the odd track day or hillclimb, I can thorough recommend it. It's a real test of car and driver (and navigator!) and a really enjoyable time with like minded people. And it's got to be the best value motorsport around - £100 a day each including hotels!

This is a typical road: Rescued attachment DSCN1174.JPG

Did Mike and Peter (Petrolhead) make it round OK? They were novices in a Caterham Roadsport (green I think).

Haven't seen them yet, but I owe them a couple of quid in sponsorship.

I really want to enter next year, so I'll be asking them lots of questions.

Not sure but I think all the Caterhams made it. With 40 cars on the event I didn't get to meet/speak to everybody as you spend nearly all your time driving/eating and sleeping!

I would think very seriously about entering a BEC on this type of long distance event (if you are) as it really isn't the right kind of car, it's hard enouhg in a CEC.

You don't think I'd enter in my car do you? I still might not be on the road by then!!!

I was thinking more along the lines of another MK, possibly with the Nissan Turbo as a donor.

Mike

P.S. Don't tell the wife, I'm supposed to be doing a Cobra for her next.

Yeah Andy, hahahah .....

And yes, it is Jeremy's wife with the electrical trouble...... she can really drive that Caterham though and was the only driver who could keep up with Hicost (just!) .
