Engine parts for Mk2 Escorts
Hi,
Great sute chaps, keep up the good work and best to all of you with your builds. My question today is, does anyone know of some decent suppliers of
general parts for old or obsolite Fords. In general I'm looking for service items for a 1.3 crossflow, points cap, sump gaskets etc and cortina
hubs and discs. Can this stuff still be had new?
Cheers
Scotty

When I rebuilt my Escort x-flow, most of the parts came either from my local motor-factors, or from Burton Power.
I got replacement discs from the local supplier as well.

Motor factors can still get hold of most bits, bt you'll struggle to get a distributor cap. I think people now use one oriinally intended for a
Fiat Strada.

Service items like filters, spark plugs, points, dizzy caps can be had from any good factor, as can gasket kits (headseat just over £20) - best to
find one with an old school partman working the counter though - mine recites part no's off the top of his head!
BurtonPower are good for the oily bits though - single heavy duty valve springs are a straight swap for the originals which are no longer available,
also valves/piston rings etc.
