Even with the generous wall thickness of the De Dion tube etc. in my drawings , the De Dion set-up weighs in at just under 22kg whereas the IRS
weighs in at 36kg.
Even the Chavs could comprehend the difference.
Cheers, Rorty.

Why bother building a car at all when you can just buy one? I'm going IRS route because I like to make things difficult for myself

I noticed the other day that although Aston Martin now share a floor pan with Jaguar the much more expensive Aston still use de Dion at the rear just
as they have done since the early 1950s.

When something works
I bet it's not the same one as they were using in the 50's really
yours, Pete
I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

I think they have a guy cutting them off old DB models giving them a quick coat of hammerite and stickig them on new Vantages. Trouble is demand
exceeds supply so they have to share one axle between 3 cars.
