BEC differential options

Been a long time since I posted. still no car being built. But questions do arise anyway, so...

What differentials would you use with a BEC with IRS, apart from the Sierra? I know people have built chain-driven differentials from Fiesta parts, but if you want the engine up front you probably don't want to do it that way. To save weight, and add some engineering fun into the equation (and maybe as a way for myself to actually get started), is it possible to build your own diff similar to the fiesta-based chain-diffs? Has anyone done it?

For IRS LR Freelander and BMW 3 series are quite popular alternatives to the Sierra unit.

For Chain drive quaiffe do a unit.
