Suffolk Darts?

I was in a Suffolk pub a few days back (White Horse, Tattingstone, if interested) and the locals were playing darts. The board was numbered with just the following numbers : 5, 10, 15 and 20, with the usual doubles and trebles, 25 and bull.

I was watching them for a while, but I couldn't work out what the hell they were doing.

Can anyone give me some clues?

cheers,
David

Is this it?

Quote from website.

London 5's
London fives is a variation on the standard board and is sometimes called 'East End Darts' because it is not even played throughout London. The board has twelve divisions rather than twenty, the games played are similar to those played on a normal board but you must start from 305 rather than 301. You must throw a double to start or an exact double to finish.

Bristle Board with 'fives' layout 5, 10, 15, 20 with half width doubles and trebles - 'the Gentlemens' Board'.

That's the board they were using - but they were scoring strangely... for example, they threw a score of 75, then said "that's 9". The highest anyone scored was 20 or so, even when they'd thrown a couple of good trebles.

very odd

David

That's a possibility...

It was an inter-pub league match though!

Heh - as noted it is SUFFOLK

Whadda ya expect...

Simplified dart boards - incorrect addition/subtraction - even though they have extra fingers and toes

JOKE!

I used to work in Ipswich - quite a nice place and some pretty fit women!
