Motorcraft Alternator wiring

I'm pretty stumped on this one, got an alt from a 2litre efi granada (pinto) and it won't put out the charge warning light.

We've picked up a new one (at great cost!) but want to make sure we don't total it by wiring it incorrectly. Does anyone know what all the connections do ? I think we know but It's really good to make sure !

thanks in advance ~ Mike

it looks like a bosch - pretty sure I've seen the wiring; maybe on here if you do a search..... but since I do not have one like that, then I didnae take any notice.

Hi, If you are still unsure of the connections I can give you the telephone number of a really helpful Auto Electrics Company near where I live in Exeter. I'm sure he will help you if you give him a call.

They are Auto-Trac Electrics Tel no 01392 277252.

I hope this helps.

Cheers

John

This is it;

W rev counter

B+ is the main output (B = Battery) but wold go to the starter soleniod (depends on engine I guess)

D+ is charge lamp+ ; the other side of lamp goes to igntion switched +12 V

+ radio suppression; can leave U.C.

ps - don;t blame me if you see smoke
