It should go off when main beam comes on, don't worry about it. If it illuminates when the instrument lights are on how will you know if it's on or off when you are using it as the lights will already be on?

yours, Pete

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

I have my fog light fed by the sidelights feed. That way you can switch it on whenever any lights are switched on - the only way to do it really as you will be flashing your fog on & off when flicking between dip & main ........ which might confuse / annoy following drivers.

Have a search for my earlier thread regarding wiring the led backlight for day & night use.

I've done what you want with all my Savage switches. There was a pretty big thread on it somewhere, but I don't have the time to search for it now.

Basically it involves diodes and resistors and some playing around with resistor values to get the level of dimming you want

I can have a hunt for the thread later if you want to know more

Ive wired mine up with sidelights and use the dash tell tale to tell me if its on or not.

Didnt bother with dimming idea, to be honest ive never felt the need to.
