Support steering colum

Because of the exhaust I've got an extra UJ in the steering colum.
But how do I make a support to hold the colum?
Do I have the colum 'rolling' in rubber of can I have an aluminium bracket with a steering colum?
Any ideas? Photos?
Many thanks, Lennart.

Thanks for the solution about the rose joints!
I've got a standard Dax steering colum extention of 15mm (5/8".
On the Burton Power site there are quite some 5/8" rose joints, but which one should I need?

Maybe not really clear to all. What I did mean was, what's the difference between underneath rose joints and which one should I use for supporting the colum?
Burton Power doesn't answer my e-mail.

Rose joint is a brand name.

It is now a generic term for spherical rod ends. You don't need an expensive race item for your column bearing. The cheap 5/8"x5/8" right hand thread would do the job. You can get them a lot cheaper from Nick Skidmore on here if he has any or a local bearing supplier would carry them.

yours, Pete

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.
