rover 1120cc

I need a bit of advice. My wife has just cooked her Rover211 1120cc 8 valve.
The radiator burst on the motorway and the engine overheated. It would only run on 3 cylinders.
I have pulled the head off and have a piston with a hole in it.
I don't see any cracks in the head and the gasket looks intact.
Can I replace one piston using the old conrod? The piston is £107.
Fast replies would be appreciated as I have to go car fixing or shopping very soon.

If its holed one piston it will probably have picked up on others.
I would consider getting a second hand engine.

Get a second hand engine mate. It will have damaged the other bores. If its cooked it will probably have warped the head etc aswell.

The 8 and 16v bottom ends fit on each other btw.
