Indy wishbone bolt length

Was checking things over prior to SVA next week and I'm not happy with how many threads come through the nylock nuts on the front wishbone bolts.

MK build manual says bolts should be 75mm long.

The total length of all the bolts MK supplied are 75 mm including the head, but the length of the shank is 70mm.

Can anyone confirm if this is correct, or alternatively how many threads the SVA ma will be looking for to protrude through the nylock nuts?

Fortunately I've still got time to get some more if they are too short

Thanks

Stu

My front wishbone bolts are approx 75mm overall and with a washer both sides there is still about 3-4 threads showing.......
So how many have you got? not quite sure what you're not happy with?

I've got less than 2 threads showing using a washer on each side, so I'm concerned about the SVA man failing me for it.

I've just ordered some more of the right length so taking no chances

Can't look now, but I think my washers are nice and slim, I probably may have sorted them as well from bing supplied, as they tended to vary between 1mm and 3mm, which will obviously make quite a difference.
2 threads showing should be fine.

bolt length

I had the same issue on a lower suspension mount that was fowling a upright with two threads showing, I decided to reposition the upright to get a few more threads.

I'd be very peed if Mr SVA failed it on a few threads, change it for a longer bolt, it won't fail being to long and pointing towards the rear of the car.

Yep I had the same problem. I think (car's in storage so I cant look) I dicided to us thin washers and leave the washer off one side (this is o.k so long as you only rotate nut/bolt on the side with the washer). But having said all this I might change them for longer bolt's...
