Hire/Courtesy car insurance...
Afternoon folks.
I'm just wondering if anyone knows much about courtesy cars from garages? I need to drop my tin top in for a service soon, and the garage says
they can provide a (no doubt rubbish!) courtesy car while it is being serviced. However, they say it is my responsibilty to sort out fully comp
insurance for it.
I've phoned round a few insurers, and none of them will insure me for a day. Actually, one would, but they wanted some obscene amount of money
to cover me for one day only.
I'm currently only a named driver on SWMBO insurance (it's here car technically!) and she won't be around to ferry me to work and
back.
Anyone got any ideas?
Cheers
Andy

Just take a day off work and get out in the garage.

If you have to sort the insurance, it's not much of a courtesy is it. Cheeky sods.
Tell them about the bent treacle edges!

I've had a few courtesy cars and I've never had to pay for insurance. If the car is loaned to you from the garage, they must have it
insured.

Cheers for the replies folks. That dayinsure link is a real gem though, I'll save that for the future!
I also thought that the garage should have the car insured for me, although it seems that is not the case.
Anyway, I've decided to do it the slackers way, and "work from home" instead...
Cheers

Norwich union to day insurance too. Same sort of price I think, perhaps a little cheaper, and you can also do it in a couple of mins on the
website.
