So how long till it's on the road then? I trust we're going to see this down at the Dick Turpin next year?

I no longer run Furore Products or Furore Cars Ltd, but would still highly recommend them for Acewell dashes, projector headlights, dominator headlights, indicators, mirrors etc, best prices in the UK! Take a look at http://www.furoreproducts.co.uk/ or find more parts on Ebay, user names furoreltd & furoreproducts, discounts available for LCB users.
Don't forget Stainless Steel Braided brake hoses, made to your exact requirements in any of around 16 colours. http://shop.ebay.co.uk/furoreproducts/m.html?_dmd=1&_ipg=50&_sop=12&_rdc=1

Thanks for all the kind words guys - it has been a real slog with the bodywork as it was my first attempt at making and modifying fibreglass bodywork.

Funny you should say that - the buttresses were inspired by swmbo's CRX !

Yep, I thought long and hard about the colour and when I saw a Mercedes SLK in this colour I nearly wet myself! So I went into the showroom and pretended to be interested in buying one and then blagged the paint code from the puzzled salesman
It is 'Mercedes 372 Lazuli' and although it is only a standard metallic, it kind of 'flips' a bit at different angles ......... which is nice

It certainly was - I started with the kit in the pic but changed every body panel in the process of building.

I redesigned the front section, making it much more rounded and incorporated BMW Mini lights to bring a more up to date look. I then made the plug and got moulds made via Aeon Sportscars who have adopted it as their Mk2 front option.

The back end is actually a hybrid of the Spider & Coupe, incorporating Alfa Romeo rear lights which are all converted to led s.

The mid section now has two-part doors. The upper window section is removeable for summer use and waterproof for winter (in theory anyway) The side vents are Toyota jobbies which I grafted in.

The chassis was modded to my spec as a two seater (the GT3 has 3 seats) and now has a central service tunnel carrying all the plumbing and electrics.

The engine started life as a 2.5 litre Duratec ST24 but I changed the inlet manifolds and injectors for the American SVT which ups the power to 202bhp (now mapped on rolling road)

Apart from that it is totally standard

fan-blooming-tastic. Well done that man. Bet the guy doing the painting enjoyed it as well - must have made a change from all those dinged panels.
