does it have the button on the dash to open it? If so, could it be this having a poor connection?

Matt

I used to have a 5dr Punto with central locking which used to unlock of its own accord and even lock and unlock as I was driving along. In the end it turned out to be a relay for the central locking which had gone faulty.

Cheers

Angus

There is a relay under the steering column which controls the rear boot lock. May be worth checking to see if there are any loose wires around that relay which are activating it, same with the boot release button to the right of the instruments.

Any issues with the rear wiper stopping part way too?

My mondeo has done the same, even unplugged the cabin button but it still did it, garage have the ruberised boot switch below the outside handle on order, hasn't been fitted as yet so don't know 100% if this is it.

Regards

Rich
