gearbox tunnel

Hi boys, Can any one tell me what the width(out side to outside) of the g/box tunnel is for the cockpit area between the seats, will be using escort axle & prop. MANY THANKS PHIL,,,,,,

From what I recall, Ron doesn't provide that measure in the book... which IMHO is rather wanting. I'm not using an escort donor, but you might find my process useful:

I measured the diameter of my driveshaft, added about 13mm clearance to each side, then added the thickness of the tunnel tubing for each side (~19mm) and then choose a nice round measure of 6" (since I'm working in standard measure). My driveshaft is dead straight from the top view however... the book build might not be for all I know.

From memory the horizontal 'spacers' are 4" as per book, so allowing 1" for the bars that run front to rear that they connect to, I'd agree with Jim, 6"

(or 3" if female)
